Tired of Facebook, and continuing to be unimpressed with GP, I'm retreating back to LiveJournal as my main social media timewaster.
I don't think I need to explain disliking Facebook. It's scarcely an unpopular opinion. I was, however, a bit astonished to be even more annoyed by Google's offering.
LiveJournal, though, is like a calm, steadyfast old buddy. My "friends" page shows posts from my friends, most recent first. (This suddenly seems like a groundbreaking new concept.) Privacy settings don't randomly morph.
I'll still look at Facebook occasionally, as it's my only contact with some people. For instance, if it weren't for Facebook, I wouldn't know about the massive riots (possible zombie outbreak!) in Bellingham. But the odds of me seeing any particular post is very low.
I will miss the recent frequent baby posts on both GP and Facebook, but the breeding surely has to die down eventually.
